Starting Position of the Triceps Kickback:
Hold the dumbbell in one hand.
Curl forward from the waist until your torso is parallel to the base.
Place the other hand and knee over a bench on order to steady yourself.
Make sure that your back is straight and horizontal.
Arch your working arm at a 90 degree angle on the elbow and carry it in such a way that it is parallel to the nearer side of your body.
The dumbbell should be suspended straight down beneath the elbow.
The Movement:
Keep your elbow still and extend your arm backward till it is straight and horizontal.
Pause for a count of two and gradually return to the start position.
Repeat the exercise with the alternate arm and continue for the desired number of repetitions.
Tips:
You must stretch your arm in regulated movements.
Avoid swinging the dumbbell backwards as this increases the chance of injury.
Keep your upper arms absolutely still and focus on moving only the forearms.
Make sure that your lower back is flat and stationary.
Always lift a light weight as this exercise is difficult to perform and can damage the muscles if the wrong technique is incorporated.
